Wednesday, November 4, 2009 Liverpool have failed in an attempt to have a red card shown to Philipp Degen rescinded, and the Swiss defender will now serve a three-match domestic ban. Degen was dismissed in Liverpool's Premier League defeat to Fulham last weekend when referee Lee Mason ruled that his tackle on Clint Dempsey was a dangerous one. Liverpool lodged an appeal against the decision but the Football Association have confirmed this has failed and that Degen will miss the upcoming home games against Birmingham Ci ...
