    Argentina: Newell's and Banfield level at top

    Newell's Old Boys and Banfield are neck and neck at the top of the Argentine championship after both won 2-1 on Monday. Banfield, who beat South American champions Estudiantes, are just ahead on goal difference with both sides on 26 points after 12 matches. Newell's, under former Argentina defender Roberto Sensini, won away to bottom team Tigre in Victoria on the northern outskirts of Buenos Aires.
