    Argentinian champions Velez Sarsfield had to work until the very last minute to beat Union Espanola 3-2 in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16. The Chileans were 2-1 ahead but Velez netted two goals in the final two minutes to claim a crucial win ahead of the second leg in Santiago next week.
