Thursday, July 9, 2009 Liverpool are poised to announce that captain Steven Gerrard has signed a new four-year contract, which will keep the 29-year-old at Anfield for the rest of his career. The Reds' skipper put the finishing touches to a new four-year contract after his return to pre-season training on Wednesday. The deal is worth a reported £140,000 a week and will commit Gerrard to his hometown club until he is 33.
