Sunderland defender Greg Halford is poised to move to Premier League newcomers Wolves for around £2m. The 24-year-old right-back is set to complete a switch to Molineux in the next 24 hours. It will be Mick McCarthy's third capture of the week after striker Kevin Doyle (Reading) and midfielder Andrew Surman (Southampton).
