Former Tottenham manager Martin Jol has taken a sideswipe at the club who sacked him a year ago, saying the club has lost its "English identity" since he was replaced by Juande Ramos a year ago. Jol has since bounced back strongly by leading Hamburg to the top of the Bundesliga in Germany while Spurs have lurched into crisis since last season's Carling Cup victory under his Spanish successor and currently sit bottom of the Premier League.
