Boca Juniors are staying optimistic about Martin Palermo's playing future after the veteran striker underwent surgery on torn cruciate knee ligaments. The 34-year-old suffered the injury to his right knee in the Apertura victory over Lanus at the weekend and will miss the rest of the season. Boca club doctor, Gustavo Liotta, said: 'We can be optimistic about a quick recovery.
