Zenit slam door on Tottenham's Arshavin bid

    Zenit St Petersburg claim to have closed the door on Andrei Arshavin's proposed transfer to Tottenham. The 27-year-old forward had been keen to play for Spurs following a conversation with Juande Ramos but a fee was not agreed with the Russian club, who originally wanted upwards of £20million. Spurs were understood to have moved on to other targets as they look to replace Robbie Keane who has left for Liverpool, while Dimitar Berbatov has handed in a transfer request.
