    Valencia opens talks to extend Villa's contract

    Valencia are in talks with David Villa over an improved contract, sporting vice president Fernando Gomez has revealed. Spain striker Villa, along with his club and international team-mate David Silva, has attracted interest from a host of teams, with Premier League side Tottenham reported to be lining up a bid for the Euro 2008 winner. Silva's agent, Julio Llorente, met with Gomez and Valencia president Vicente Soriano on Tuesday night to begin discussions over a new deal for the 22-year-old. ...
