Friday, July 18, 2008 The U.S. reached the medal round of Olympic soccer at the 2000 Games in Sydney, though the squad finished fourth. That left hunger for more, but the next team failed to qualify for the Olympics in Greece, falling to archrival Mexico. Now the U.S. is back at the games and hoping again to compete for a medal. But as other countries take Olympic success more seriously, the caliber of competition rises. It's possible that the U.S. could field its strongest squad ever for the Olympics yet not adv ...
