MLS playoff picture beginning to shape up

It was only a year ago, so the memory is still fresh in the minds of many. The Los Angeles Galaxy, which posted a losing record in its final eight regular season games last season (3-4-1), qualified as the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a .500 record (13-13-6) and rode a hot streak all the way to an improbable MLS Cup title.
