Thursday, June 22, 2006 As enjoyable as this World Cup is, there have been surprisingly many mysterious games. I have already expressed incredulity at the Polish approach to their encounter with Germany. It was a match Poland had to win, yet they seldom ventured beyond the halfway line and then, afterwards, babbled something about having put up a great fight - as if they had just braved Holland Mk. 1988 or a Maradona-led Argentina.
