As the head coach of the U-17 national team for the past seven years, losing games wasn't something he had to deal with all that often. There was even one 15-month run in 1998 and 1999 that his Landon Donovan-led side didn't drop a single match in 25 games. Over a 57-match span in 2003, Freddy Adu and the boys only lost 9 times.
