Angels pitchers Dickson, Karl become free agents

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Righthander Jason Dickson and lefthander Scott Karl both refused Class AAA assignments from the Anaheim Angels today, making themselves eligible for free agency. Dickson, 27, underwent season-ending surgery on his right labrum on June 27 after missing the entire 1999 campaign with the same injury.
