AMERICAN LEAGUE Red Sox vs. Devil Rays Boston: RHP Tom Gordon (right elbow surgery) is scheduled to throw off a mound for the first time Sept. 14. The injured Red Sox closer, who is rehabbing at the team's complex in Fort Myers, Fla., visited his teammates before the game. Gordon, who's contract has a club option for 2001, hopes to remain with Red Sox. "I enjoy Boston and I enjoy the fans," said Gordon, who should be ready for start of spring training. "I want to be here next year." ... RHP Ramo ...
