Saturday, November 7, 2009 UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas -- Rice scored 13 unanswered points off two turnovers by SMU freshman quarterback Kyle Padron to take an early 13-7 lead. Padron threw an interception in the end zone with SMU leading, 7-0, midway through the first quarter. The Owls then drove it 80 yards for a touchdown. On the next drive, Padron scrambled and was hit on his blind side and fumbled. Rice recovered at the SMU 33-yard line and scored two plays later on a 33-yard pass to a wide open Patrick Randolph.
