Rice 13, SMU 7 after first quarter

UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas -- Rice scored 13 unanswered points off two turnovers by SMU freshman quarterback Kyle Padron to take an early 13-7 lead. Padron threw an interception in the end zone with SMU leading, 7-0, midway through the first quarter. The Owls then drove it 80 yards for a touchdown.
