Friday, November 6, 2009 With injuries mounting elsewhere on the roster, the Patriots released reserve offensive lineman Kendall Simmons on Friday, creating a roster spot by trimming from an area where they have considerable depth. Simmons, who signed a three-year contract in September, appeared in one game for the Patriots this season (vs. Tennessee). He was working at all five positions as a backup.
