Byrd, Rodriguez among Ranger free agents

Marlon Byrd, Pudge Rodriguez, Hank Blalock, Joaquin Benoit and Eddie Guardado filed for free agency on Thursday. Omar Vizquel and Andruw Jones could also file for free agency, but haven't done so yet. "We felt Omar fit the role perfectly, not to mention what a guy with his credentials brings in the clubhouse," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said.
