Thursday, November 5, 2009 The NFL's least penalized team in 2008, the New England Patriots are averaging 6.28 accepted penalties per game this season, which ranks them 19th in the NFL. The decline likely was addressed during the team's self-scouting in the bye week, as the Patriots need to be sharper in this area. Yet while avoiding penalties is usually associated with winning, the link might not be as strong as one would think across the NFL.
