Mavs inch higher in NBA Power Rankings

The Mavericks' victory Friday night in Los Angeles over the Lakers -- coupled with a follow-up road win over the Clippers on the same floor one night later -- outweighs the disappointment generated by Dallas' opening-night loss at home to the Washington Wizards. At least it does in ESPN.com's weekly Power Rankings. The Mavs moved up a spot from No. 6 to No. 5 in the latest edition of the rankings, which can be found in their entirety by clicking here.
