Cowboys take control in first quarter

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys took a 7-3 lead after the first quarter at Cowboys Stadium. Wide receiver Miles Austin was the target early in the passing game. The first pass of the game, for 10 yards, went to Austin. He caught another one, for 15 yards on a slant later in the quarter. But Sam Hurd was able to get the first score of the game for Dallas, breaking through three defenders for a 36-yard touchdown reception that gave the Cowboys a 7-3 edge.
