'Victory Monday' sends the wrong message

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Whenever teams earn big wins on a Sunday, coaches usually give their teams the next day off. It's called "Victory Monday." The Cowboys earned their first big win of the season, a 37-21 victory over Atlanta. It marked the first time this year that the Cowboys had defeated a team with a winning record. So instead of bringing in players for a light workout and to watch videotape of the previous game, coach Wade Phillips gave the team a day off. It sends the wrong message. ...
