Tuesday, October 20, 2009 CHICAGO -- Chicago White Sox third baseman Gordon Beckham has been named one of two Rookies of the Year by The Sporting News. Philadelphia Phillies left-hander J.A. Happ was the other rookie honored by the publication. The award was voted on by a panel of 338 major league players. The 22-year-old Beckham batted .270 with 28 doubles, 14 home runs and 63 RBIs in 103 games with the White Sox in 2009.
