Mathis to have more tests for severity

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis has a broken index finger on his left hand and might need surgery to repair ligament damage. Coach Jack Del Rio said Monday that Mathis, the team's top defensive back, will have more tests to determine the severity of the injury. Del Rio said Mathis might need surgery, but added that it would not be season-ending. The Jaguars (3-3) are off this week.
