Monaco stops Hernych in first round

STOCKHOLM -- Fourth-seeded Juan Monaco of Argentina beat Jan Hernych of the Czech Republic 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 in the first round of the Stockholm Open on Monday. Monaco failed to convert three match points before dropping the second set to Hernych. He then led 5-2 in the third, but Hernych fought back to 5-5 before Monaco clinched the win.
