Friday, October 16, 2009 For the Boston University men's hockey team to successfully defend its national championship, things are going to have to go better than they did Friday night in its season opener at Amherst, Mass. The University of Massachusetts snapped a 2-2 tie on Will Ortiz's goal early in the third period and held on to beat the second-ranked Terriers, 3-2, at the Mullins Center.
