World Cup sets start date

OBERHOFEN, Switzerland -- The opening races of the World Cup ski season in Soelden, Austria, have been confirmed for Oct. 24-25. The International Ski Federation said on Friday that conditions on the Rettenbach glacier were sufficient, with race organizers adding man-made snow to the natural snow already covering the course.
