ESPN.com Thursday, October 15, 2009 LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A longtime horse racing fan, Rick Pitino once pulled legendary trainer Nick Zito aside and asked him why horses wear blinkers. Zito explained how horses aren't human, how some are easily distracted and need help to focus on the path directly in front of them. For a long time, Pitino didn't get it. He does now.
