Thursday, October 15, 2009 WASHINGTON -- First, the Washington Capitals wore down the San Jose Sharks. Then Alex Ovechkin finished them off. Ovechkin scored twice in a 28-second span of the second period, and the Capitals ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory Thursday night. The Sharks were called for five penalties in the opening 18 minutes.
