Pennetta gets first win vs. Shaughnessy

LINZ, Austria -- Top-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy routed Meghann Shaughnessy of the United States 6-1, 6-1 on Tuesday in the opening round of the Generali Ladies. Pennetta had lost both previous matches to Shaughnessy. Pennetta, ranked No. 11, has eight WTA Tour titles but has yet to win an indoor event.
