Carpenter to start Game 4 if needed

ST. LOUIS -- Chris Carpenter will start on three days' rest if the St. Louis Cardinals make it to Game 4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's a tactic that's mostly been a failure during manager Tony La Russa's 14 seasons in St. Louis. "What have we got to lose anyway?" Carpenter said Saturday.
