Friday, October 9, 2009 With the opening of Arapahoe Basin this morning and Loveland on Wednesday, U.S. ski areas in operation now number two. (Make it three if you count Rabbit Peak at the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort.) The Colorado resorts are offering up single paved-road style runs (customarily referred to as white ribbons of death), still, skiing's skiing and it's the earliest lift-served skiing in Colorado since the winter of '69 (or something).
