Thursday, October 1, 2009 NEWARK, N.J. -- Veteran forward Brendan Shanahan left the New Jersey Devils after being told he would not be a part of their top three lines this season. Shanahan, who has 656 career goals, was informed that he was not in the Devils' plans on Wednesday and he decided to leave the team on Thursday.
