ESPN.com Wednesday, September 30, 2009 September offered only a three-game picture of this 16-game season. Obviously, there were surprises and disappointments. The New York Jets lived up to every boast coach Rex Ryan made about their defense and rookie quarterback (Mark Sanchez) in getting off to a 3-0 start. The Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans disappointed everyone with their 0-3 starts after playoff appearances last season.
