ESPN.com Monday, September 28, 2009 With defensive tackle Vince Wilfork's status uncertain because of an ankle injury, the New England Patriots signed former Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Terdell Sands Monday, a source said. Wilfork has a sprained left ankle, according to multiple media reports. To make room for Sands on the roster, the Patriots released linebacker Prescott Burgess, whom they recently acquired in a conditional trade with the Baltimore Ravens.
