Montanes, Monaco reach Romania final

BUCHAREST, Romania -- Fifth-seeded Albert Montanes defeated Santiago Ventura 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 Saturday to advance to the final of the BCR Open Romania. The Spaniards traded breaks early in the first set before Ventura broke decisively to lead 4-3. Ventura won three straight games in the second set to even it 4-4 before Montanes rallied to win the set. He cruised past Ventura in the third. Montanes will face third-seeded Juan Monaco of Argentina, who beat Simon Greul of Germany 6-4, 6-3.
