Friday, September 25, 2009 CHICAGO -- Jake Peavy joined the White Sox so he could pitch in the playoffs. Since Chicago has already been eliminated, he settled for the next best thing Friday night. He beat the Detroit Tigers, who are trying to win a division title. The White Sox managed only two hits off Detroit starter Eddie Bonine -- one a homer by Gordon Beckman in the sixth to break up his no-hit bid -- and Chicago beat the Tigers 2-0.
