Thursday, September 24, 2009 The Diamondbacks are about to sign their first European prospect, a 17-year-old, right-handed pitcher from Italy named Andrea Pizziconi, whose brother, Matteo, has pitched for the Reds' Gulf Coast League affiliate the past two summers. Andrea is 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, and works mainly off an 88-90 mph sinker, with a promising slider and a chance for four pitches.
