Sunday, September 20, 2009 Saturday was a great day for Pete Carroll disciples. For the man himself, um, not so much. The Carroll tree linked the two biggest storylines of the day. Washington coach Steve Sarkisian upset his mentor, taking down USC. Another protégé, Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin -- whose Vols virtually everyone expected would be slaughtered in epic proportions -- handled himself very well in the Swamp against mighty Florida.
