Thursday, September 17, 2009 OAKLAND, Calif. -- Kurt Suzuki thinks defense first. When the catcher makes a rare appearance as Oakland's cleanup hitter, though, he slides into the role of run producer. Suzuki hit a three-run homer to help the Athletics beat the Cleveland Indians 5-2 on Thursday night. "When you're not trying to do too much it seems the ball goes farther," Suzuki said.
