GUANGZHOU, China -- Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia rallied to defeat top-seeded Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 Thursday in the second round of the Guangzhou Open. The 95th-ranked Sevastova reached the quarterfinals of a WTA Tour tournament for the first time this year. She will play Alberta Brianti of Italy. Also Thursday, third-seeded Peng Shuai of China used four breaks to defeat Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa 6-3, 6-2, setting up a quarterfinal against Alexandra Panova ...
