Wednesday, September 9, 2009 BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox wanted Victor Martinez because he could help them at first base, catcher and designated hitter. He's turned out to be a pretty good pinch-hitter, too. Martinez came off the bench and hit a three-run double to break a seventh-inning tie, leading the Red Sox to a 7-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.
