Federer to lead Swiss vs. Italy

LONDON -- Roger Federer was chosen Tuesday to play for Switzerland's Davis Cup team in the country's attempt to stay in the elite World Group. Federer will lead the Swiss team against Italy in Genoa on outdoor clay in the playoffs from Sept. 18-20, the International Tennis Federation announced. Federer is the defending champion of the U.S. Open, French Open and Wimbledon.
