Saturday, September 5, 2009 HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Brian Anderson threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns to lead Marshall to a 31-28 win over Southern Illinois on Saturday. Chuck Walker had 119 yards on 10 catches, while Cody Slate caught nine passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns for the Thundering Herd. Marshall gained 388 yards of total offense in the season opener for both teams. The Salukis, who had three turnovers, brought the game within 31-28 with 1:40 left on a 5-yard run by Chris Dieker.
