Rib injury forces Casey to withdraw

NORTON, Mass. -- Paul Casey has withdrawn from the Deutsche Bank Championship because of a rib injury that has kept the world's No. 3 player out of golf for the last month. Casey withdrew Wednesday after hitting nothing more than a sand wedge on the practice range at the TPC Boston. He had an MRI after withdrawing from the PGA Championship last month that showed a tear of an oblique and a strain of an intercostal muscle.
