ESPN.com Tuesday, September 1, 2009 Iowa Hawkeyes sophomore running back Jewel Hampton will miss the season because of a knee injury that kept him out of most of preseason camp, coach Kirk Ferentz announced Tuesday. Hampton backed up Doak Walker Award-winner Shonn Greene last season and rushed for 463 yards and seven touchdowns. Projected to succeed Greene as Iowa's starting tailback this fall, Hampton injured his right knee in July during voluntary workouts.
