Some explanation on JUMP: I limited the scope of the system to the post-strike time frame for three main reasons. First, none of the 28 winners were pitchers. Second, only one played for a team that finished below .500 (Alex Rodriguez in 2003). Third, 22 of them played on teams that qualified for the expanded postseason; an extremely strong tendency that could help separate seemingly equal candidates.
