SAN FRANCISCO -- Shaun Hill appears likely to be named the 49ers' starting quarterback after Alex Smith's subpar performance Saturday night in the 49ers' 21-20 win over the Oakland Raiders. Smith completed just three of nine passes and threw an interception. A source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter last week that Smith was going to have to play very well to beat out Hill for the starting job.
