Thursday, August 20, 2009 BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Rugged left wing Jeff Cowan has signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres, who continue to add muscle this offseason. Cowan is an eight-year NHL veteran but spent last season playing for Peoria of the AHL. He previously played two years with Vancouver, where he combined for seven goals and four assists, and 203 penalty minutes in 88 games. Listed at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Cowan broke into the NHL with Calgary during the 1999-2000 season, and has also played for Atlanta ... Activate your ESPN Profile!
