Baseball Prospectus Wednesday, August 19, 2009 On Monday night, the Washington Nationals did the best thing possible for the future of the franchise by signing the No. 1 overall pick of the 2009 draft, right-hander Stephen Strasburg. While the Nats once again have the worst record in baseball, the club has been showing signs of life, with a winning record since the All-Star break. There's certainly nowhere to go but up. While it may be impossible -- if not downright stupid -- to say the Nationals can be the next 2008 Tampa Bay Rays anytime ... Activate your ESPN Profile!
